stitched seed and leafopeningsI live and work in Wilshire. Having done a ceramics degree at Bath, along the way I also got interested in print. This is my main focus now, collagraph prints and collage.
I consider myself to be predominantly a mark maker who is fascinated by texture.I like to explore colour and surface through the medium of print.Collagraphs are embossed surfaces pressed into thick damp paper. For me this process is not about producing many of the same image but using the plate as a starting point for a journey.

I go out walking in the land with my two dogs everyday and even though I do not draw in the landscape I have the feeling of it with me all day. I take this into the workshop, or on the kitchen table. Sometimes after a print is dry I will run it through the sewing machine, considered lines of thread, or an abandonment of caution stitching furiously with no care for the paper. This creates a wonderful surface to the touch.
