Mixed news

We start with very sad news from the other side of the world, but please read on to the end to find out about a members’ exhibition.

A tribute to Edna Dorrington

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of TMA artist and ArtsFest stalwart, Edna Dorrington. She died whilst in Australia with her family this Christmas. Her cheerful attitude and endearingly humane paintings will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was unfailingly helpful to TMA, together with Angela Rushforth having managed the card racks for several years.

Members’ exhibition at the start of February

There will be a members’ exhibition from January 30th until 18th February. Following from the successful theme of ‘Jurassic Coast’ last year, the theme will be ‘Coastline’. This broad theme can be interpreted as you wish, and should give you plenty of scope!

The exhibition will be held in the Courtyard Gallery. Cost for one piece is £10 and for two pieces £15. Sizes: 2ft square or 24×30” either way. For an extra £5, you may submit two unframed pieces on paper or card for the browsers – original art work only (no reproductions).

3d work is also welcome.

Hand in will be on Sunday 25th January from 1 pm until 6pm in the Courtyard Gallery, and collection from 4pm until 6pm on the 18th February. If you cannot make either time, please contact Phil to arrange.

Also, you need to let Phil know when you can steward. Sessions are 10.30 until 1.30 and 1.30 until 4.30.

Phil says “Email me to let me know if you will be taking part, so I can plan wall space etc. – don’t just turn up on the day please! Email me directly on curatorartsguild@yahoo.co.uk. (Although I am currently away, you can email me before I return.)”
