A rare opportunity to view original work by popular West Dorset artist, Ronnie Creswell, is coming up soon at the Town Mill, Lyme Regis. The exhibition will be open from 11am to 4pm every day from 17th to 28th April and will include early work as well as Ronnie’s more recent digital mixed media prints. Free entry.
“This will be something of a Clearance Sale as far as I am concerned as I have originals that have been residing in my loft for several years now, and could do with new homes. Several of these pieces are the original paintings in watercolour and acrylic that I have since used to make up the layers in my digital mixed media designs” said Ronnie. “They have also been printed as greetings cards which have been very popular and will be available for sale, as well as printed ceramic mugs featuring my designs.”
Ronnie lives in Morcombelake and exhibits with Morcombelake Art Group, at A Touch of Vintage in Lyme Regis, at Wessex Investment Management in Beaminster and in Lyme Regis ArtsFest. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and abroad.
Having obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art at Farnham, Surrey, she works in a variety of different media and the finished images are often scanned into the computer, to be developed into new designs using Adobe Photoshop. These “digital mixed media” designs are then printed as Giclee prints, using archival quality papers and pigment based inks. They are available framed or wrapped without frames and small reproductions are available as cards.
As these pictures often mix images from several years back with new work, they have an autobiographical aspect. Ronnie’s work usually refers to the passing of time in some way, and due to her interest in nature and the natural environment, also often features indigenous flora and fauna.
A wide selection of her work in various media can be viewed on her website at ronniecreswell.co.uk.
