Sue Calder

Sue and Quilt - smallTextile artist

As an artist I draw my inspiration from many sources ranging from my garden, fruit and vegetables, interesting faces, light casting patterns and shadows, but colour usually plays a large part in choice of subject and materials.  I’m drawn to the tactile qualities of stitch on fabric and enjoy deceiving the eye using fabric as a medium. My current work uses a combination of paint, pastels, paper, fabric and stitch.
