A solo exhibition by Jean George, a painter with interests in the theatre, ballet and travel who studied Spatial Design as a mature student and designed wall theatres and paintings for children’s hospitals in Dorchester and Great Ormond Street.
‘My painting’, says Jean, ‘is largely a recording of people, scenes and events that stayed in my memory often long before becoming paintings or writings. I do sketch or paint in situ, but many of my paintings are from memory or imagination. Ballet has also played a large part on my life and included in this exhibition are some paintings of dancers and set designs for stories I have written.’
Jean’s work is mainly oil, occasionally acrylic, on canvas.
Open daily; 10.30-4.30. Free admission.
